Alternatives to Invasive Species
Many of the species listed as invasive in Rhode Island are readily available at local nurseries as well as through retail catalogues. To avoid purchasing invasive plants, you can ask nursery staff which plants are native, non-native, or non-native and invasive. There are many excellent online resources that may be helpful.
Below are several excellent sources of information for alternatives to invasive plants.
