Habitat and Substrate: Shaded to partially shaded areas, on twigs, especially conifers.

Rhode Island Status: Uncommon.

Pollution Tolerance: Sensitive.

Collection Site(s): Queen River, Exeter (#5025); Headwaters of Wood River, West Greenwich (#5143, #5144); Big River Wildlife Management Area, West Greenwich (#5164, #5557); Pawtucket River Pine Barrens, Richmond (#5306); Nicholas Farm, Coventry (#5360).

Notes: Previously reported in Rhode Island by Bennett (1888) as determined by R.C. Harris, Hebert (Flenniken 1968a), and Flenniken (1968b).
