BioBlitz 2003

Bioblitz 2003 was held from 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. It was centered at the Tiverton Land Trust’s Pardon Gray Preserve (purchased with the assistance of The Nature Conservancy of Rhode Island and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island [ASRI]) and included the Town of Tiverton’s Weetamoo Woods, ASRI’s Emilie Ruecker Wildlife Refuge, Sapowet Marsh, and RIDEM’s Babbitt property.

Program:
Friday, 20 June
3:00 p.m. - BioBlitz 2003 Kick-off at the Pardon Gray Preserve
6:30 p.m. - Cookout and celebration of the Summer Solstice

Saturday, 21 June
8:00 a.m. - Breakfast for the overnight scientists
10:00 a.m.- Public Events begin (schedule below)|
All activities originate at the reception tent at the Pardon Gray Refuge; some walks may carpool from Pardon Gray to other BioBlitz sites. Most events are 60–90 minutes in duration. The events are lead by staff and volunteers from the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, Hands-On Science, The Nature Conservancy of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Natural History Survey, the Rhode Island Wild Plant Society, and the Roger Williams Park Zoo.
